Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how MotorDesignSoftware ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and safeguards information when you visit our website, use our browser-based calculators and tools, use our desktop software, or purchase a license (together, the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to the practices described below.
Information We Collect
We aim to collect as little personal information as possible. The Service's calculators run in your browser and send only the numerical inputs you enter to our calculation backend to return results; we do not require you to create an account or provide personal details to use them.
- Information you provide: if you contact us by email, we receive your email address and the contents of your message.
- Usage and device data: like most websites, our hosting provider and analytics/advertising partners may automatically collect standard technical data such as your IP address, browser type, device information, referring pages, and pages visited.
- Calculator inputs: the motor, winding, and PWM parameters you enter are transmitted to our calculation service to compute results. These inputs are processed to generate your results and are not used to identify you.
Cookies and Similar Technologies
Cookies are small files placed on your device. We and our partners use cookies and similar technologies to operate the site, remember preferences, understand usage, and (through advertising partners) deliver and measure ads. You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings; disabling some cookies may affect how parts of the site function.
Advertising and Google AdSense
We use third-party advertising companies, including Google, to serve ads when you visit the Service. These companies may use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites.
- Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies to serve ads on our site.
- Google's use of advertising cookies (including the DoubleClick DART cookie) enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to our Service and/or other sites on the Internet.
- Third-party vendors and ad networks may also use cookies to serve ads based on your browsing activity.
You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of a third-party vendor's use of cookies for personalized advertising by visiting www.aboutads.info. For more on how Google uses data from sites that use its services, see Google's policy.
Payments and Software Licensing
Paid licenses for our desktop software are sold and processed through our third-party payment provider, Lemon Squeezy, which may act as the merchant of record. When you purchase a license, your payment details (such as card and billing information) are collected and processed directly by Lemon Squeezy under their own privacy policy and security standards — we do not receive or store your full payment card details. We may receive limited order information (such as your name, email address, country, and license status) in order to deliver your license, provide support, and meet tax and legal obligations.
The MotorDesignSoftware desktop application itself does not inherently collect personal data or transmit your designs. Your project files and simulation data remain on your own computer unless you choose to send them to us — for example, when requesting support.
How We Use Information
- To provide, operate, and maintain the Service and its calculators.
- To respond to your inquiries and support requests.
- To understand and improve how visitors use the site.
- To display advertising that helps keep our tools free.
- To detect, prevent, and address technical issues, abuse, or security concerns.
Data Retention and Security
We retain information only as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy or as required by law. We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information; however, no method of transmission or storage over the Internet is completely secure.
Third-Party Links
The Service may contain links to third-party websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those sites and encourage you to review their privacy policies.
Children's Privacy
The Service is intended for a general, professional audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can remove it.
Your Rights and Choices
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal information we hold about you, or to object to certain processing. To make a request, contact us using the details below. You can also manage advertising preferences using the opt-out links above and control cookies via your browser.
